This is very thought provoking, Counter. Through this facet of power we can understand the class structure that actually seems to be getting worse as it defines in a declining world who will have safe water to drink, who will eat enough not to die early. Let's hope that on the way down degrowth can be managed equitably and we can arrive at a steady state economy that is humanity's best hope in a depleted world.

" understand the class structure that actually seems to be getting worse..." Totally. Something to the extent, what Murray Bookchin felt, that at the heart of the ecological crisis is a giant social inequality crisis. One linked to the other.

Hi Clarence... Given what you say is true. However the American empire itself is the cause of global misery, tyranny and destruction, even if we take Jesus and Israel out of the picture, for a moment. After all, every empire, be it American, Russian, X, Y, are all founded upon genocide and then later demands repeat genocide, from forthcoming generation.
