Thanks for this introduction to The Feral Atlas. The illustration of the piglets nursing on the caged sow and effluent draining away is important, but people do not want to know how that lovely crisp bacon comes to be on their plates. Those business owners, like the owners of our world in general, are best understood as gangsters (IMHO). I am aware of an action taken against an environmental engineer, working for an American state, who was investigating a giant pig farm too closely and reducing profits. A masked man emerged from the woods with a hunting rifle and shot him in the groin when he was jogging his regular route. After a prolonged recovery, he retired.
The shooter was never identified, and no motive was identified, but it is clear who profited.
I like traveling in India. It takes a certain understanding of one's role and the attendant rules which apply. I think it's easier for a white American than for an Indian-American, myself.

"...do not want to know how that lovely crisp bacon comes to be on their plates..."
Indeed a vast majority of human beings do not want to accept
1. that the age of exuberance is over
2. that killing animals at this rate - will lead to more disease and virus, bacteria etc
3. economics, industry and corporations are actually divorced from nature / careless of limits.

I read that article and it does not disagree with a recurring theme, which I posted on most recently in August: https://drjohnsblog.substack.com/p/explaining-involuntary-reductions

I'm Indian, yet this small corner the Mediterranean is my home.
World-famous oranges, too.
